At Skillman Farm Market and Butcher Shop all of our meat products come directly from Simply Grazin’ farms.
So, the beef we sell is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, and has been given no additional growth hormones or antibiotics. Grass-fed beef also has less fat and up to five times as much Omega-3s, as well as up to twice as much CLA. CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a cancer-fighting fat that is most abundant in grass-fed products.
The pork and poultry we sell are pasture raised. When animals are raised on pasture, with access to natural forage and plenty of sunshine, their meat and fat is also richer in micro-nutrients, particularly fat-soluble vitamins E and D, as well as minerals like selenium.
